Following Daisy’s delight with her personalised page, we tried person-centred colouring with more residents — choosing designs that mean something special to them. 🎨
One lovely lady got her favourite pop star ⭐, and Mal was absolutely thrilled with a page featuring his beautiful girls 🥹.
Such a lovely way to spark joy and enthusiasm — it really makes all the difference!
22.5.26 Heather was absolutely delighted after Katy did her nails today 🥰 She couldn’t wait to show me the result, holding her hands out proudly and beaming with that lovely, bright smile of hers. Seeing her so happy reminded me perfectly that sometimes it really is the little things in life that make all the difference. 💅 Why these small touches matter so much in a care home: ✨ Boosts confidence and self-esteem – looking neat and feeling “done” makes people feel like themselves, not just a resident. ✨ A moment of pampering and calm – it’s a gentle, relaxing experience that feels like a real treat and a break from the routine. ✨ Connection and care – it’s one-to-one time filled with chat, laughter and kindness, building trust and friendship. ✨ Brings back joy and routine – many people have loved having their nails done all their lives; keeping See more
Today our lovely Daisy wasn’t too keen on joining in with the colouring session with the other residents — sometimes we all just need something that feels extra special, right? 💛
I know how much Daisy loves her hometown of Harefield, so I asked her what her favourite view there is. Without hesitation, she said Blackjacks Mill! 🪵✨
I turned a photo of that very spot into a custom colouring page just for her — and she was absolutely delighted when she saw it! 😊 She’s promised she’ll colour it in over the weekend, so now we’re all looking forward to seeing her masterpiece. Let’s see how she gets on… I have a feeling it’s going to be wonderful! 🎨
Resident safety is always our top priority 🙌
Yesterday, we took part in a falls prevention class — a great way to help everyone stay safe, mobile, and confident in daily life.
Talking about falls prevention brings so many benefits: it helps us spot risks early, learn practical ways to stay steady, and share tips to support one another. Small steps make a big difference in keeping us all safe and active!
Do you have any simple safety tips or ideas that work well for you? Feel free to share them in the comments below — we’d love to hear them 💬
✨ What a lovely session we had today! ✨

It was wonderful to see everyone interacting, joining in, and connecting so beautifully with our therapist Kristina today . She’s caring, nurturing, and truly knows how to bring out the very best in every single person here. 💛

What a lovely afternoon making music with our residents! Everyone chose their favourite percussion instrument, and we played along to all their much-loved songs. Creativity and smiles filled the room instantly! 💛
Playing instruments is wonderful for keeping hands active, stimulating memory, boosting mood, and bringing us all together. Such a special time shared!
18.5.26 - Today reminded me all over again just how much joy comes from the smallest things. Little treats, kind gestures, and small surprises mean the world to residents in care homes. They aren’t just about food—they’re about feeling thought of, cared for, and bringing a little sparkle to the day 💛
Moments like these are the ones we hold onto, and they show exactly why those little, regular acts of kindness matter so much.

Today was so lovely seeing James’s granddaughter come to visit him 💛. There’s something truly beautiful about the special bond between a grandfather and his granddaughter—full of warmth, stories, and unconditional love. It’s such a wonderful reminder of just how precious family connections are, and how these relationships make life so much richer and meaningful. Cherish every moment with the ones you love ❤️

Such a lovely relaxing morning today! Our residents settled down to listen to some relaxing music and when one lady asked for her cat, it gave me an idea! I got out our selection of cuddly toys. Many of our residents joined in for some wonderful nurture therapy! — all the cuddles were a huge hit and brought so many smiles!
Soft toys are brilliant for our residents: they bring comfort and companionship, ease anxiety, spark happy memories, and give a lovely sense of calm and security. Combined with relaxing together, it made for the perfect peaceful, happy morning 💛

Celebrating a Lifetime of Care: Meet Joan 💙
Today, we are shining a light on one of our wonderful residents, Joan, whose lifelong commitment to children’s nursing has touched countless lives in our community.
Joan spent many years as a dedicated children’s nurse at Hillingdon Hospital. She was a familiar, comforting face on the children’s wards—specifically Peter Pan and Wendy—where she provided expert care and kindness to young patients during their most vulnerable moments.
Joan, thank you for your years of service to the children of Hillingdon. You were a wonderful nurse, and we are so proud to have you as part of our family here.
We were delighted to welcome our friends Sarah and Roarie back to visit us this morning from Mount Pleasant Farm . Visits like these are so much more than just fun; equine therapy provides wonderful sensory stimulation and emotional comfort for our residents. Seeing the bond between our residents and Roarie is truly special. Thank you, Sarah and Roarie for bringing so much joy to our home! 🌟

Ann and Joan are are looking absolutely radiant today 🌟 We know that when you look good, you feel good, and our care team is going above and beyond to make sure our residents feel pampered and beautiful. We were privileged to witness such a heartwarming moment at the home today. Daisy’s son traveled all the way from Dubai to visit and surprise her, and the second she realized he was standing there, her entire face lit up!
To see Daisy’s beautiful, radiant smile again was truly the highlight of our week.
Moments like these remind us just how much a visit—planned or unplanned—means to our residents and spending time with a loved one means “everything” After all.. the greatest gift you can give someone is “your time “ 🩷

We have a new Star of the Day! ⭐
A massive well done to Joan, who proved you don't even need to stand up to be the life of the party. She was determined to dance with the group and pulled off some seriously impressive moves right from her chair. That infectious smile had the whole room beaming! Well done Joan
Bingo at Copper Mill has become one of the most loved moments of our week We’re now seeing nearly the whole home come together to play, and it’s always a full house – the atmosphere is amazing, full of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition. Lately, we’ve been making bingo more interactive and truly resident-led. Our residents are at the heart of it all – from donating or choosing treats they love, to taking turns calling the numbers. Our resident ambassador helps check the calls, Heather keeps everything running smoothly on the machine, and everyone gets involved by helping each other mark their cards. In between rounds, residents even come up with their own creative bingo calls, which always brings plenty of smiles and giggles! And of course… our treat trolley always goes down a treat 🍬 It’s wonderful to see so much engagement, connection, and joy all in one room See more
A Heartwarming Surprise! ❤️🎂
There’s nothing quite like the magic of spontaneous moments. Today, we witnessed something truly special that reminded us why we love what we do.
One of our lovely residents was celebrating her birthday in her room when a group of her friends decided to drop by with a surprise visit. After showering her with "Happy Birthday" wishes, the room filled with so much joy that they all decided—completely spontaneously—to have a big group hug! 🤗✨
It was a beautiful, moment of pure connection and friendship. Seeing our residents support and love one another like family is what makes this house a true home.
Happy Birthday to our wonderful Rosslyn!
Thank you for letting us share in your joy. 🎈
