Today, Doreen enjoyed a very special, personalised colouring activity featuring one of her favourite pin-ups, David Essex! 🎶😍
Rather than choosing a generic picture, we created something especially for Doreen, based on one of her personal interests after a discussion with her daughters.
It was lovely to see her enjoying the activity, choosing the exact colour of David’s hair and taking pride in her picture.
Activities like this are a wonderful way to encourage choice, self-expression, reminiscence and meaningful engagement, while creating opportunities to chat about favourite music, memories and moments from the past. 💕
A simple colouring sheet can become something much more special when it’s made person-centred and personal to the individual. We look forward to seeing the finished results
Our weekly bingo is always a favourite — and it’s become so popular that it’s now resident-led! 🥰
There’s something so lovely about watching our residents (and their loved ones) who also enjoy the experience - come together, helping one another, sharing a laugh and celebrating each other’s wins. 💕 The room is always filled with smiles, encouragement and plenty of excitement when someone calls “BINGO!” 🎊
We absolutely love seeing our residents taking ownership of an activity they enjoy and supporting one another along the way. It’s so much more than a game — it’s friendship, connection, confidence and a wonderful sense of community. ❤️
Well done to our fantastic resident bingo team! 👏🌟

There’s one thing that never fails to put a smile on Steve’s face — time spent with his lovely daughters.
Today they came to visit, bringing along some of his favourite treats, and Steve couldn’t have been happier! Sitting together, sharing his favourite snacks, and simply enjoying each other’s company made for such a lovely afternoon. ❤️
Spending time with family can bring so many wonderful benefits — creating a sense of belonging, comfort and simply reminding someone that they are loved and valued.
1.9.26 - ✨ Maria’s Mini makeover ! Today our beautiful Matia enjoyed a special mini makeover. ❤️ She wasn’t initially particularly keen on having her hair cut, so rather than rushing her, we took our time, gently talking about it over the past few weeks and allowing her to decide when she was ready. Today She bravely headed to Coppermill own salon and came back with a beautiful classic bob — which is so flattering! Our lovely hairdresser Wendy, chatted with her, put her at ease and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Maria was so delighted with the result she wanted to go back to her room and change into one of her favourite blouses. To finish off her makeover, staff helped her to chose a necklace, pick a lipstick, added little makeup and some perfume. 💋🌸 Maria truly felt a million dollars! ✨ It is an See more

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our beautiful “Betty” ahead of her 98th birthday tomorrow! 💖
Betty was surrounded by her loved ones, who came to Coppermill to make her feel truly special and like the queen she is. She also enjoyed having her Coppermill family around her as everyone joined together to sing Happy Birthday! 🎶
We took a little trip back to 1928 with music from the era, beautiful beads, and even some chair dancing to the Charleston! 💃✨ Betty had a wonderful time celebrating with everyone around her.
Betty truly is a wonderful lady and deserves every bit of happiness and love she received today. ❤️
Happy 98th Birthday Betty! 🎉👑🎂

26.8.26 - This morning was a very emotional one at Coppermill as we came together to remember and celebrate the life of the wonderful Dolly Parton. 💗🤠
For many of our residents, Dolly’s music has been part of the soundtrack of their lives, bringing back precious memories, smiles, stories and plenty of tears.
Together, we looked at photographs, spoke about her incredible life, kindness, and legacy, reflected on her words of wisdom and, of course, listened to the beautiful music that has touched so many generations. 🎶
Coming together as a community gave us the chance to share our memories and emotions, reminding us that music has the power to connect us all. With our pink cowboy hats on, we remembered Dolly with love, laughter and a few tears. 💕
Rest in peace, Dolly. You will be very missed, Thank you for the music and your legacy will live on forever. 💗

Today, some of our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip down memory lane watching Tom and Jerry! 🐱🐭
For many, it had probably been years since they had seen those familiar characters, but the moment the recognisable music began, the smiles on their faces said it all. They were completely transfixed!
Watching something familiar from the past can bring comfort, joy and happy memories. Familiar programmes, music and characters can create a wonderful sense of connection and sometimes spark conversations and reminiscence too.
At Coppermill, we know that meaningful moments can come from the simplest things — and sometimes, you’re never too old to enjoy a good cartoon! 💙✨
25.8.26 - Today Tony was visited by his son the had a lovely morning enjoying coffee and chatting . Tony is incredibly fortunate to have a family who visit him regularly and truly treat him like the king he is! 👑 His family time is something he clearly treasures, and seeing the smiles, conversations and special moments they share reminds us just how important these connections are.
Family, friendship, laughter and simply spending time with the people we love can add so much to our residents wellbeing and quality of life. 💙
At Coppermill, we love seeing our residents surrounded by the people who mean the world to them
25.8.26 -Happy 96th Birthday to our wonderful “Joyce”
Today, we celebrated an incredible lady who is 96 years young — (although you would never believe it! ) Full of energy and personality, she is truly a force to be reckoned with. Strong-willed, wonderfully honest, kind-hearted intelligent, and completely one of a kind, Joyce brings so much character wherever she goes. ❤️
What made today especially wonderful was seeing her surrounded by the people who mean the most to her. Family is important to Joyce, and you could see just how proud and happy she was sitting with her family, catching up, sharing stories and simply enjoying precious time together. Which truly was the best gift.
These are the moments that mean so much — celebrating not just another birthday, but a lifetime of memories, love family and togetherness.
25.8.26 - ☕ Monthly Family Coffee Morning ☕
Today, we held our monthly Family Coffee Mornings. Although it was a small and intimate gathering today, it proved incredibly beneficial and made for a wonderfully warm and informative chat.
Our Home manager, Solomon, shared a wealth of advice, experience, education, and insight around dementia and Alzheimer’s. Families were able to ask questions openly, and with Solomon’s many years of experience and in-depth knowledge, everyone came away feeling reassured, better informed and supported.
These meetings are so important to us at Coppermill. Our aim is to create a relaxed space where families can ask questions, share thoughts and concerns, and feel supported and at ease.
Today certainly achieved that. 💙
Well done, Solomon, and thank you for delivering such an informative, educational and heartwarming meeting. We look forward to many more conversations like this! ☕💙
25.8.26- Today, one of our lovely members of staff returned to Coppermill after maternity leave, and she brought something truly special with her — a beautiful taste of her culture. 🥰
She kindly shared homemade samosas and delicious dips with everyone, and they were absolutely wonderful! It made the day even more special and was a lovely reminder of one of the things we value so much here at Coppermill — coming together, learning about one another, and sharing the wonderful cultures, traditions and experiences that make us all unique.
We were so happy to have her back, and what a beautiful way to celebrate her return! ❤️🌍🥟
Recently , some of our wonderful residents took part in a very special Words of Wisdom activity at Coppermill. 💭❤️
We chatted about the advice they would give to the younger generation, what they would tell their younger selves, and the favourite phrases and sayings that have stayed with them throughout their lives.
There were some beautiful words of wisdom, plenty of laughter , and lots of wonderful memories shared along the way. ✨
Our residents have lived through so much, and their experiences, stories and advice are truly priceless. Sometimes, the best lessons in life come from those who have already walked the path before us. ❤️
24.8.26 - What a lovely example of the community and support we have at Coppermill ❤️
Eileen’s family very kindly asked Barbara if she would arrange some flowers for Eileen, knowing just how much Barbara loves flower arranging. It’s one of her favourite things to do and something that gives her a real sense of purpose and enjoyment.
Barbara was absolutely delighted to help, and the beautiful flowers made their way to Eileen from her daughter. 🌸
It was such a thoughtful gesture that brought happiness to both ladies. This is what makes Coppermill so special — our families really get to know one another, our residents support each other, and together we create a wonderful sense of community. ❤️
24.8.26 Today at Coppermill, we shared a truly beautiful and emotional moment. ❤️
Eileen was completely overwhelmed when her daughter arrived all the way from Australia to pay her a surprise visit - accompanied by her husband.
The tears and emotion said it all! 🥹
The family also shared a lovely afternoon catching up very special moment when Eileen was able to have a lovely family photograph taken with “both” of her daughters together —
a precious memory to treasure forever. ❤️
Moments like these remind us just how important family, connection and togetherness are. We feel very lucky to have been part of such a special reunion. 💐
